DELIVERY INFORMATION & WASTE DISPOSAL (MUCK AWAY GRAB LOADER)

We offer a free local kerb side delivery service for all orders placed of £30 + V.A.T. or over, on a range of vehicles to suit your delivery needs.

We can supply our sand and aggregates either tipped loose or in the large jumbo bags (aka AgBag).

All our vehicles are tracked using the NavMan GPS tracking service.

Vehicle types
The 7.5 tonne style vehicle will carry up to 4 tonnes, this small tipper will get into most small domestic driveways and is not much bigger than a transit van.

Our 18 tonne lorries can carry up to 10 tonnes of loose tip material, but are also mounted with cranes to off load bulk bags or pallets of paving etc. If you need a delivery on these lorries please measure your site access. Ideally the lorries need an opening access of 10 feet (3m) and room to manouever.

These lorries are a very similar size to a skip lorry.

When looking to book a crane off-load delivery please remember the following:
The crane arm will operate a maximum of about 10 feet (3m) parallel to the side of the vehicle. Bulk bags and pallets are typically only lifted over a maximum of a 4 foot (1.2m) wall or fence, much higher than this and we can get the items over the obstacle, but not always down on the other side.

If you are still concerned that our vehicles will not get into your site or you only want a small amount of material then you are more than welcome to collect from any of our depots where you can be loaded by hand, forklift or bucket loader.

When do we deliver?
All our vehicles deliver on a daily basis, Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings. We will give you a set day for your delivery and do our best to let you know if it is likely to be morning or afternoon, we are unable to arrange timed deliveries as traffic conditions can vary too much to guarantee arriving at a set time.

Typically we offer a same day or next day delivery service, during some of the busier seasonal periods, this can sometimes extend to 2 days although this is rare, e.g., where an order is placed on a Monday, the earliest delivery may not be until Wednesday.

We will always do our best to deliver when requested, but delivery times are for guidance only, we cannot and do not make "promises" or "guarantees" of delivery, but will always do our best.

If an item is not in stock, we will obtain and deliver the item at the earliest possible time. We receive regular deliveries from our suppliers, so this is typically within 2-3 working days.

Where will we deliver to?
We operate from 4 branches which are based in Reading, Maidenhead, Basingstoke and Guildford. We deliver to any area within this geographical grouping and within approximately a 10-15 mile radius of each branch. We will deliver further than this when possible, which may incur a small delivery charge, depending on the order.

Do I need to be there to accept delivery?
Ideally there should be someone on site to ensure that your delivery is placed where you would prefer it, but as long as the driver can gain access then although preferable, it is not absolutely necessary.

Delivering off the highway
If you request our vehicles to leave the public highway, you do so at your own risk and Meakin Building Supplies Ltd cannot be held responsible for any damage that may be caused, this will also be at the drivers discretion.

Unloading times
The time allowed for unloading is 30 minutes. If a vehicle is kept waiting longer than this, due to no fault of the driver or Meakin Building Supplies Ltd,  we reserve the right to charge waiting time at the current rate.

Other conditions
Meakin Building Supplies Ltd will not be liable for any loss or damage caused by failure to supply, or any delay in supply, which may be caused directly or indirectly by any circumstances beyond our control, including acts of God, fire, accident, machinery breakdown, shortage of labour or materials, or by any act or neglect on the customers part.

It is the responsibility of the customer to dispose of their waste or waste packaging responsibly.

Once the goods have been delivered, it is the customers responsibility to ensure their safe-keeping.

Muck Away Waste Grab Loader Service - Waste Disposal

We also operate a registered muck away waste grab loading service, collecting Soil, Hardcore, Building Waste or Green Waste from your site. Wherever possible, your waste is also Recycled.

Returns & Refunds
Whenever possible, where items being returned are to be collected by our vehicles, we will endeavour to collect at the earliest convenient time.

When an item(s) has been supplied to a customer from stock and is returned for a refund, then a 25% re-stocking charge of the value of returned goods will be made. Proof of purchase will be necessary before a refund will be given and the goods must be in the same condition as supplied.
If an item(s) has been ordered to a customers specific requirement (a special order), then it will not be possible to offer a refund on any goods returned.
Customers wishing to have goods collected from site for a refund will be subject to a collection charge in addition to a re-stocking fee.
Damaged goods will be replaced like for like subject to Meakin Building Supplies Ltd being informed within 48 hours of delivery and a proof of purchase being supplied.

Refunds will be actioned using the same method of payment as originally tendered.

Aggregates and perishable items i.e. (cement, plaster, etc) due to their nature, are NON-REFUNDABLE.
